Sr Statistician R&D
JOB PURPOSE
Role is to provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art statistical design and analysis for a diverse array of challenging projects within the R&D organization. Will primarily support study design and data analysis for Products Research Organization, Product Formulation (Design of Experiments), Product Integrity (Stability, Design of Experiments), and Clinical Research. Able to independently identify appropriate techniques and methods to design studies, analyze, interpret, and report quantified information. Perform comprehensive statistical analysis and provide value-added study design and interpretation of data to support new product development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for performing study design and statistical analysis for projects in support of product development including products research, clinical research, product formulation and product integrity testing. Responsible for identifying appropriate methods, techniques and design of experiments utilizing various statistical methodologies such as multivariate statistics, linear and non-linear modeling, data integration and data mining tools. Data generated in analysis is critical for decisions made in new product development such as consumer preference, claims substantiation, shelf life, and formula robustness. 45%
2. Independently generates written reports that provide results to the appropriate research teams – and identify ways of displaying the data that is actionable, including predictive models. Reporting will include statistical evaluation of data from outside agencies retained for the purpose of conducting consumer, product and clinical research. Statistician may be called upon to ensure quality and validate research findings of others, including validating data quality from external vendors. 25%
3. Propose experimental approaches and presents/share reports and recommendations based on the statistical analysis. Requires ability to explain study design rationale, data and complex statistical concepts with R&D partners for the purpose of advancing projects and making decisions. 15%
4. Consult and collaborate with researchers, scientists and R&D colleagues to develop strategies and iterative learning plans using methodologies to integrate multiple types of data and sources. Discover new methods in partnership with internal and external experts in the field to solve complex problems and advance capabilities. 10%
5. Work with the R&D functions to ensure that the statistical data and reports are appropriately accessible following R&D security privileges in Oracle’s Agile and/or shared drives. 5%
In addition to the above, incumbent is expected to meet the required competencies for this position as defined in the competency profile.
