Brand Development Specialist II - Color
JOB PURPOSE
Supports Brand Manager and Assistant Brand Manager and participates in the development and execution of new products, new packaging and existing product updates. Independently manages select maintenance projects, i.e. shade update, package refresh, or ancillary products. Independently researches, compiles cost, pricing, sales data, competitive information and data to support analyses. Manages assigned activities in Agile and AMS systems. Ensures timely and accurate information is communicated internally to functional team members, regional partners and on electronic share drives. Primary projects are related to maintenance items and may support new product development products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participates in the competitive & market trend research. Independently researches and reviews independent sales force and industry feedback in the form of blogs, editor reviews, etc. and makes recommendations toward future product launches. Presents findings to team.
2. Proactively provides support to Reporting Manager and team, by providing analytic insight towards the overall lifecycle management of assigned products by creating recommendations (i.e. visuals, spreadsheets/ sales and financial charts) based on sales data, insights/findings.
3. Participates in the development and execution of new products, new packaging and existing product updates. Contributes to new product development project activities; business lead for line maintenance projects. Supports Brand Manager and Assistant Brand Manager in working with creative and packaging teams to develop the look and function of a product package. Evaluates packaging and product aesthetics and makes recommendations to manager. Initiates marketing copy for primary and secondary packaging in AMS system for assigned projects. Proactively monitors activity due dates in Agile system and works with team to complete assigned tasks by specified due date.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
Experience: 2+ years previous new product development management experience. Beauty experience is a plus.
1. Must be self-sufficient, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, have strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with aggressive deadlines, i.e. timetable, management.
2. Understanding of NPD and product lifecycle.
3. Some project management skills required.
4. Demonstrates the ability to independently gather and analyze sales data, competitive, cost and historical information and to prepare price comparison charts.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to initiate outlines and drafts of presentations; prepare initial drafts of packaging copy; and assist in the review and approval of copy. Proficiency in Excel for Windows and Power Point are required to build and edit presentations, format and analyze product, pricing, packaging, promotion and other product marketing management information.
6. Must have good presentation skills and be comfortable presenting in various audiences.
7. Ability to deal with ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities.
8. Travel may be required to attend special events and seminars.
