Sr Specialist Product Education US
JOB PURPOSE
With direction from
Manager, creates/develops and implements independent sales force product
education initiatives that support existing and new Company products and
promotions. Delivery methods of education (online, video, print, in person)
will vary based on strategic needs of the Company. Communicates and works
closely with cross functional partners to help create consistent product
messaging. Independently manages projects from inception to
completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Conceptualizes, develops and executes product
education videos through the following channels: Beauty Extras, Pink Link, IPTV events, and
E-plan. Includes writing creative briefs and scripts, selecting and coaching
sales force members, demonstrating makeup artistry, producing and editing. Interfaces with Product Marketing, Sales
Force Communications, Creative Services, A/V, Regulatory and Legal.
2.
Maintains Product Central website with new
products, product phase-outs, quarterly product promotions, changes to
ingredients and product fact sheets. Conducts quarterly analysis on site
traffic. Maintains and updates product
knowledge workshops hosted on Product Central.
Interfaces with Product Marketing, Consultant Marketing, Creative
Services, Sales Force Communications.
3.
Maintains web based color and skin care
education sites (Color Confident and Skin Care Confident). Updates with product changes, new content,
quizzes and sales force feedback as necessary.
Knowledge of makeup artistry informs updates made to the programs. Promotes program through sales force
recognition and communication channels to encourage the sales force to
participate and earn the designations.
Conducts analysis and reports on participation levels. Interfaces with Product Marketing, Sales
Force Communications, Sales Force Recognition, MKConnections, Interactive
Consumer Marketing, IST, Creative Services, A/V, Regulatory and Legal.
4.
Works closely with Manager of Product Education
to develop and implement product education delivered at Company events
(Seminar, Leadership Conference, Career Conference, Go-Give Workshops). Knowledge of makeup artistry informs content
presented at these events.
5.
Conducts Employee Product Education Events,
demonstrating product knowledge and makeup artistry, on a quarterly basis to
provide employees with product knowledge and build brand ambassadors within the
Company.
6.
Attends Company and sales force events to
cultivate relationships with sales force members, understand how the sales
force sells product, and determine gaps in the sales force’s product knowledge.
7.
Markets and creates awareness of product
education assets. Participates in the
writing of educational and promotional articles. Works closely with Sales Force Communications
to ensure information is successfully communicated to the independent sales
force via email, InTouch, Company publications, etc.
8.
Conducts research to better understand the product
education needs of the independent sales force. This research includes
strategically-located discussion groups, creating and utilizing surveys, and
compiling independent sales force ideas. Collaborates with Market Research as
needed to plan or execute complex research initiatives.
9.
Acts as a resource to other internal teams
(Consultant Education, ISD/NSD Education, Product Marketing, Consultant
Marketing, Consumer Marketing, and Corporate Consumer Marketing) regarding
product education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or
equivalent experience is required. |
Experience |
A minimum of five years of project management experience, such
as developing strategic and creative educational or training materials is
required. A minimum of 2 years in the
Cosmetic/Beauty industry. |
1.
Makeup
artistry skills required.
Cosmetology license preferred.
2.
Develop artistry and product knowledge of
independent sales force through hands on demonstration and coaching.
3.
Strong project management skills with the ability
to lead complex projects from inception to completion over an extended time
period and manage resources accordingly.
4.
Must have excellent oral and written
communication skills. Excellent presentation skills are also required.
5.
Must have the ability to develop strong working
relationships with internal staff and sales force.
6.
A successful candidate will have a high level of
creativity and be open to change.
7.
Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving
skills. Must have a proactive working
style with a strong sense of ownership and urgency. Must display a positive, friendly attitude
with a genuine interest in contributing within a team-driven environment.
8.
Analytical abilities are needed to assess sales
force product education needs based on company direction, business needs, and
feedback from the sales forces as well as determine the appropriate programs
and materials to be developed.
9.
Requires superior time management and
multi-tasking skills.
10. Domestic
overnight travel required approximately 15 % of work time to periodically visit
sales force members, attend major Company events, and attend training seminars.
