Facilities Mechanic
JOB
PURPOSE
Performs repair and preventive maintenance duties to maintain and upgrade the
appearance of existing facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs carpentry,
painting, electrical and plumbing tasks to repair, demolish, and/or construct
facilities. Duties may include stripping, priming, and painting machinery;
taping, bedding, texturing, and painting walls; hanging vinyl or other wall coverings.
Installs electrical circuits under the direction of a higher-level Facilities
Mechanic.
2. Moves furniture, boxes, and equipment utilizing hand truck for loading and
unloading as needed. Drives truck to move materials between locations. Builds
crates to ship furniture and equipment as requested.
3. Performs routine scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
4. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required, including setting up and
clearing auditoriums and classrooms and changing light bulbs and ceiling tiles.
5. Maintains all paper work (e.g., work orders and maintenance records)
correctly and legibly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education High school diploma or equivalent, plus
Experience 3-5 years of trade school courses and/or experience in basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and preventive maintenance tasks in order to perform carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing tasks. Previous experience required to fabricate guards and make equipment repairs. Must have experience with energy management systems (Andover experience preferred).
1. Must be able to use various hand and power tools to perform basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical and preventive maintenance tasks.
2. Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and a good driving record to drive Company vehicle between locations.
3. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds in order to move furniture, boxes, materials, and equipment.
4. Must pass an audiogram test and comply with the driver safety program.
5. Must be certified in power industrial equipment (i.e. scissor lift).
