JOB PURPOSE

Working independently and with minimal supervision and direction, this position coordinates activities in the Continuous Improvement department as well as leading small improvement projects as assigned. Supports other team members on the projects within the department. Supports the Training Specialist in the execution of the Training Program for Operations. Maintains records and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Maintains Continuous Improvement Programs (e.g. Just-Do-It, Workplace Organization, etc.) by providing data entry support and generating reports as required. Ensures the data updates are provided in an accurate and timely manner. Interacts with and actively engages employees to provide guidance for program activities and determine additional programing areas of interest. Provides excellent customer service. Collects program statistics, provides reports to management and recommends plans for further improvement. 35%
2. Maintains data entry for training systems (e.g. Agile, Gensuite) and administers the proper filing of training documents, in line with regulatory requirements. Assists the Operations Training Specialist with coordinating training events, updating metrics, and training rosters, as well as the administration of training records. Collects training statistics and provides their report to management and recommends plans for further improvement. 30%
3. Leads assigned projects and proactively interacts with both the CI team and customers to ensure the successful completion of the projects, programs and training system (e.g. Total Productive Maintenance, Quick Change Over, Visual Factory) 20%
4. Contributes to CI Team activities (e.g. CI Newsletter, CI SharePoint, CI Matrix, CI Tracker, CI Away Day) by writing CI articles or proving other forms of content and system support. Performs special projects and general administrative duties as assigned. 10%
5. Supports the CI Director on Global CI activities (e.g. Kaizen Award, Global Virtual Team) 5%
In addition to the above, incumbent is expected to meet the required competencies for this position as defined in the competency profile.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education Associate Degree or equivalent
Experience 5+ years of business or manufacturing experience
1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products is essential.
2. Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) a plus
3. Completed CI Awareness at Mary Kay or willingness to participate in formal training within the first year of entering position.
4. Effective oral and written skills are required.
5. Ability to work cross-functionally, and with all levels of the Supply Chain organization is required.
6. Must possess passion for excellence in people, processes, and analytics. This is a hands-on position that will require a self-motivated, self-directed person.
7. Ability to adjust shift or schedule due to changing business needs and in order to support a 24/6 Operation.
